Big Data Analytics Careers

The College of Engineering at the University of Missouri is in the process of hiring approximately 20 new faculty in the area of Big Data Analytics with special focus in a variety of areas, including machine learning and data mining, geospatial intelligence, analytics for public policy, high performance computing and networking and transportation and infrastructure. These new hires will have the potential to be joint positions with the other colleges or schools across the University of Missouri, including the Trulaske College of Business, School of Medicine, Sinclair School of Nursing, the College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources and the Harry S. Truman School of Public Affairs.

Hiring in Big Data Analytics

The College of Engineering at the University of Missouri is in the process of hiring approximately 20 new faculty in the area of Big Data Analytics with special focus in a variety of areas, including:

  • Machine learning and data mining
  • High-performance computing and networking
  • High-assurance cyber-physical systems
  • Big Data Analytics applications
  • Population analytics for public policy
  • Transportation and infrastructure
  • Computational/Systems biology and bio Big Data
  • Geospatial Big Data (GBD) analytics
  • Spatio-temporal Big Data Analytics

These focus areas will include appointments in multiple academic departments in the College of Engineering, and new hires will have the potential to be joint positions with the other colleges or schools across the University of Missouri, including the Trulaske College of Business, School of Medicine, Sinclair School of Nursing, the College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources and the Harry S. Truman School of Public Affairs.

We invite applications for tenured or tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate and full Professor level. Applicants whose skills and research interests are close to the above focus areas will be given full consideration.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in engineering or a closely related field (specific degree qualifications may be required for some focus areas and will be included on individual job positions), demonstrated success in research, and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates conducting quality research in any of the above focus areas are especially encouraged to apply.
